What Is Foam Underwrap?
Foam Underwrap (also known as pre-wrap or underwrap tape) is a thin foam layer applied directly to skin before adhesive tape or strapping. It acts as a protective barrier, preventing adhesive from sticking to skin or hair — reducing irritation, friction, and discomfort during application or removal. It’s widely used in sports medicine and athletic taping — especially for joints, ankles, wrists, knees — or when applying heavy adhesive tapes repeatedly.
